Red Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

The City of Pickering welcomes new businesses opening, relocated businesses, milestone anniversaries, significant expansions, including ground breakings signifying construction of new developments. The Red Ribbon Cutting Ceremony program is an opportunity to celebrate businesses which can deepen relationships within our community, our local council and community partners.

In the Economic Development Department, we are committed to supporting Pickering-based businesses. A red ribbon cutting ceremony is a fantastic way to introduce your business to the community, expand your customer base, and foster relationships with local brands and retailers—leading to opportunities for collaborations.

The event generally takes one hour, and invitations are extended to the Mayor, Councillors, Economic Development & Strategic Projects Department, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), and representatives from the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade. Remarks by City Officials and business stakeholders as well as a photo period which will be shared via the Economic Development and Strategic Project Departments’ communication channels. This ceremony is complimentary and the ceremonial scissors, ribbon, and certificate is included.
